Day 21

I woke up feeling like crap again and I didn't weigh-in. I have been having trouble with my BCP for the past few months...breakthrough bleeding and week early bloating and so forth. Plus I just looked at the calandar and realized I would have my period on my honeymoon. So today I got a new Rx for a pill I used to be on that was pretty dependable and I am manipulating my cycle to perfection, hehe. Meaning I won't have it for my cousin's wedding, my wedding, the honeymoon, or my friend Nicole's wedding. Gotta love messing with hormones. Anyway, today was so horrible that I refuse to post about it. I think I might do a juice fast tomorrow. Still thinking about it. I gotta start eating clean. I have to to start cutting out all the processed food I have been eating...like ice cream bars for one.

  2. P.S. If you don't mind me asking, what BCP worked well for you? I am experiencing similar problems with the stuff I am using now. I need to find one that I can depend on. :)

  3. Hi! Yasmin worked for me. I just got the generic. The one that was making me spot was Ortho-Novum 1/35. I really like the diuretic effects of Yasmin but I feel that it made my sex drive weaker (it is anti-androgenic after all). I am going to switch to something else after the wedding. But for now at least I know I won't be spotting. Plus weightloss and exercise always increase the sex drive so I am not so worried. If you wanna tell me about your symptoms and what you are on I can recommend something for you. I am a pharmacist. =)

  6. Hi! I found your site on theknot.com and I am starting my "bridal boot camp" on Jan 1. I'm going to follow your blog and progress to keep me motivated if you don't mind. I am getting married July 11th so I have 192 days from today to lose my goal of 20 lbs! I've gotten lazy lately and since I met my fiance I've put on a few extra lbs! he is a guy and can eat whatever he wants...and I join him...and I gained weight! Anyway, best of luck to you!

  7. Thanks so much for the help! Basically, my main problem is that I randomly just start my period. For a while it was always 2 weeks into a pack, but then I tried to switch it up and make the sugar pills be two weeks into the pack. Since then, I have my period for like 2 or 3 days randomly. I have been using Microgestin (I think thats how it is spelled). I have been using it for almost a year, so I think I just need to get on something different. This stuff just isn't working. Thanks again for your help! :)

  8. Amy...Thanks for joining! I would love to have you as a follower! Good luck on your goal! I hope I can help.

hisMrs...Usually when random bleeding occurs from days 14-21 of a cycle, it means that your pills progestational effects are not strong enough for your body. Nevertheless, the progestin portion of Microgestin is fairly strong so I am worried that estrogen component is causing your problem. Now, this is not based on the fact that you are on a low dose pill...its the progestin portion that has low estrogenic effects. I know, it sounds confusing. You basically have 2 choices...and since you have some time till your wedding, you can try either...a) switch to a different low dose pill and hope it affects you differently (this is tough because most low dose estrogen pills contain a progestin with low estrogenic effects as well) OR b) switch to a regular dose pill with medium estrogenic and progestational effects...maybe Zovia 1/35 or Yasmin or others. Talk to your doctor about it and see what their experience is. Hope this helps!

  9. Thank you so much! I will definitely speak to my doctor about it. I think I may try to switch to a regular dose pill. I really appreciate your help on this subject. It can be some confusing stuff! :-/ haha
